Is There a Such Thing as “Devil’s Music”?

by Samuel Brooks

What is “devil’s music”? Does “devil’s music” exist? The term “devil’s music” often refers to rock ‘n roll music or a certain chord that’s being played on an instrument; however, there’s no such thing as “devil’s music”. Satan never created music, music was created by God in heaven. What it boils down to is what you’re using music to glorify…God or the world!

In Matthew 6:20-24 NIV, the passage says “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Also, Luke 6:45 says “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” What this means is that whatever you say reflects what’s in your heart.

The topic of “devil’s music” is further explained in the video below with evangelist and recording artist, Cortt Chavis.
